Wouldn&#8217;t it make more sense to have some keeping an eye on your server to let you know it is dying beforehand so you will have options to save the data? Better yet, wouldn&#8217;t it be better if someone not only monitored your hard drives, but also added a second one to ensure that you can keep operating  while one is being replaced, and also setup a tape storage backup solution and configured your server to keep daily copies of your important information immediately available in the case of a problem.</p>
